CISCE NATIONAL FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

The CISCE Sports & Games National Football Championship 2024 embarked on a spectacular journey, with an elaborate Inaugural Ceremony held on the 18th of September, 2024, at 5:00 PM. This grand event, meticulously organized by Kuriakose Elias English Medium School, Mannanam, saw the presence of various dignitaries and notable personalities, making it a prestigious affair. The evening began with the Ceremonial March Past, followed by a serene Invocation Prayer by the KEEMS Choir. The stage was then graced with a Welcome Speech by Rev. Dr. James Mullassery CMI, the Principal of the host school and Coordinator of CISCE Regional Sports & Games, Kerala, created a tone of unity and sportsmanship. The audience was treated to an enchanting Rhythmic Fiesta, performed by the KEEMS team. Smt. K V Bindu, the President of the District Panchayath, Kottayam, hoisted the Sports Flag, symbolizing the official commencement of the championship. The ceremony reached a new zenith when Dr. C.T. Aravindakumar, Vice Chancellor of MG University, Kottayam, delivered a Presidential Address full of wisdom and inspiration. Adding grandeur to the event, Shri V N Vasavan , Hon’ble Minister for Cooperation, Ports, and Devaswom, Govt. of Kerala, lit the ceremonial lamp and delivered the Inaugural Address, reflecting the essence of sportsmanship and the significance of youth engagement in sports. An inspiring Keynote Address was given by Adv. Mons Joseph, MLA of Kaduthuruthy, highlighting the role of sports in societal growth. The evening saw the participation of various luminaries, including Dr. Rosamma Sony , Smt. Annamma Mani , Shri.Jose Ambalakkulam, and several others, each a significant contributor to the event’s success. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, Beating Retreat and a thrilling  Match Inaugural Kick-off. Fast-forward to the Valedictory Ceremony on the 21st of September, 2024, at 6:00 PM, a closing event that was as grand as the inauguration. The program began with an invocation and Welcome Speech by Shri. Roy Michael, Vice Principal of KEEMS. Rev. Fr. Antony Elamthottam CMI, Provincial of the CMI St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvananthapuram, graced the event with a stirring Presidential Address. The Chief Guest, Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, Chief Executive & Secretary, CISCE, New Delhi, delivered a powerful address, emphasizing the value of sports in education and life. A special moment was the Special Guest Address by Shri K T Chacko, a former Indian International Footballer and Coach, whose words resonated with the aspiring athletes in attendance. The Keynote Address was delivered by Shri Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, MLA, Kottayam, followed by felicitation speeches by Adv. Mons Joseph and Rev. Dr. Binu Kunnath, Director of Caritas Hospital, Thellakom. The Prize Distribution Ceremony added a climax to the championship as Rev. Dr. James Mullassery CMI declared the selections and Rev. Fr. Shyju Xavier CMI presented the mementos. The lowering of the flag by Rev. Dr. Kurian Chalangady CMI marked the official end of the event. The night concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Rev. Dr. James Mullassery CMI, leaving the audience with memories of an electrifying championship. The championship, through its elaborate ceremonial events, celebrated not just the competitive spirit but also the unity, camaraderie, and discipline that sports bring. The passion of the athletes and the guiding words of the dignitaries shaped this into a truly unforgettable event, etching it into the annals of national football history.
